Prairie Meats started as a small local family butcher shop in Saskatoon in 1983. The company has grown and is now an industry leader that provides quality products to retail, wholesale and institutional clients throughout the province with 3 distribution centers, 6 retail locations, and almost 200 employees. Our reputation and success is built on our commitment to manufacturing quality products and delivering service that is ‘a cut above’.

Despite our continued growth, we remain connected to our roots and our values including, quality & customer service excellence and sourcing & supporting local. Prairie Meats has a strong connection to the province and the local communities that we serve. We give back in many ways, including our focus on local sourcing, as well as being involved in a variety of community initiatives, donations & sponsorships and our fundraising program that has helped many organizations through the years.
